were formed in 1969, but didn't hit the UK charts until the release of 'Whiskey in the Jar' in 1973. Despite changing their guitarists on a number of occasions, the band went from strength to strength, regularly selling out places like Hammermsith Odeon by 1978. However, the band split in 1983. Singer Phil Lynott formed Grand Slam in 1984, but the band split in 1985. Phil started a solo career, which was sadly cut short by his death in Jan 1986.
